Shaastraarth

Saamanjasya , in association with Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law, IIT Kharagpur, is proud to bring to you for the first time, Shaastraarth, a 3 on 3 Parliamentary Debate. This event is organized with a view to popularize the debating movement and will capitalize the debating skills and foster camaraderie amongst the participating members.

Mr. Mahendra Pal Singh will be presiding the event, and delivering a lecture on Constitutional issues on October 22nd and 23rd , 2011.

FORMAT
The competition will follow the parliamentary-style format similar to the All-Asian Championships. It will be a 3 on 3 style debate where each team of 3 will face opposing teams with reply-speeches. There will be 3 preliminary rounds from where teams will progress to the knockout rounds (quarter-finals and semis) and the Finals.

RULES & REGULATIONS
Each institute can send up to 2 teams, each consisting of 3 speakers.
Registration Fee: Rs 500, to be paid on arrival.(Accommodation provided)
Travel expenses to be borne by participants.
