Parishram - 2011

The vision of Saamanjasya is to propagate a culture of harmonizing the youth towards societal problems. No event of this proportion and intention will be successful without providing solutions to the problems that are faced by the society and also by the people who are working for its upliftment. To serve this motive, we are organizing, as part of Saamanjasya 2011, an event called "PARISHRAM". This event is aimed at involving the students from various parts of the country to provide original and practical solutions to issues faced by NGOs and CSR wings of corporate. The idea is to involve the best minds of the country to come up with workable solutions to the real life issues that the NGOs face.

The event will consist of two phases which will test not only the analytical skills of the participants but also their dedication towards the social cause.

The First Milestone

In the first stage, the participants will be provided with Case Study pertaining to some issue faced by any NGO. Please note that names and operations of the NGOs involved are strictly confidential. The problem statement in the case study can involve anything from disaster management to operational issues to healthcare solutions for the NGOs and so on. The scope of the case study is not limited to any stream of management and hence students with different profiles are invited from all over the country to solve the problem by using best of their skills and knowledge. Overall five (5) teams will be shortlisted from all the participating teams and will be asked to present their solution in the next round.

The Second Milestone

In the second phase, the five selected teams will be asked to present the solution they have proposed. The evaluation of the proposal will be based on Social, Economic, Political and Financial feasibility of the solution. Sufficient weights will be given to the grass root research done by the teams. Teams are expected to look into all the four areas in order to make it to the top. The solutions would ultimately lead to the betterment of the society.

2. A team of 2 members is required.
3. Last Date of Registration: 13th October 2011.
4. Case Study Availability from: 30th September 2011.
5. Document Submission for first round: 13th October 2011.
6. Mode of Submission: via email, at parishram.vgsom@saamanjasya.com
7. Results of First Round: 15th October 2011.
8. Final Round: 22nd October 2011, at VGSoM, IIT Kharagpur Campus.
